Mr. Taylor Strickland
Conductor of the LSCC Advanced Choir
Mr. Taylor Strickland is an accomplished choral director and piano teacher, currently serving as Director of the LSCC Advanced Choir and Director of Choirs at Woodford County High School. He has been instrumental in elevating Woodford County’s choral program to exceptional standards, with three in-school choirs (Chorale, Treble Choir, and Concert Choir) and three after-school a cappella groups. He has received accolades for his direction, with the Chorale and Treble Choir receiving distinguished ratings in performance and sight reading at the KMEA choral assessment.
Mr. Strickland is the community music chair for District 7 of KMEA and serves as the Director of the Capital City Chorale, an adult community choir in Frankfort. Mr. Strickland made his debut as a clinician at the KMEA professional development conference in 2023, presenting a session titled "A Guide to Teaching Class Piano from a Struggling Pianist's Perspective".
Mr. Strickland is a graduate of the University of Kentucky where he earned his Bachelor's in Choral Music Education. As a student, he was an active participant in several choral ensembles, including Chorale, Men's Choir, Blue Note, and the Acoustikats.
Mr. Strickland currently lives in Lexington, KY with his dog, Coach.
