Completed Events
The Lexington Singers thank concert sponsors Betsy Grise and Susan Willis for their generous support.
The fall concert will be kicked off by the The Lexington Ringers under the direction of Jeff Marsh performing an exciting mix of handbell repertoire that invites the listener to reach for the light. The Lexington Singers Children's Choir Chamber Choir--our most advanced children's ensemble--will be next up under the direction of Daniel Wesley. The last portion of the concert will start with The Lexington Singers performing Elaine Hagenberg's contemporary composition -"Illuminare" under the direction of Jefferson Johnson.
"llluminare" is Elaine’s first extended work, consisting of five-movements for SATB chorus and chamber orchestra. Using lesser-known sacred Latin texts, the piece takes us through a season of beauty and goodness that has been disrupted by darkness and confusion. But as Light gradually returns, hope is restored, illuminating our future and guiding us in peace.
The Lexington Singers' own Johnie Dean's new work "Alleluia, Alleluia" will finish the program. The Singers, Ringers, and Chamber Choir will collaborate on this sensational composition.
