Dr. Sue Ellen Ballard is the Lecturer in Choral Music Education and Director of the Women's Choir at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. Beyond her responsibilities at Asbury, Dr. Ballard serves as pianist and organist at Central Baptist Church in Paris, Kentucky, and conductor of the Kentucky Baptist Convention Women’s Chorale in Louisville, Kentucky. She received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Kentucky and has twenty-six years of teaching and conducting experience, having served at various universities in Kentucky and public school systems in Mississippi and Kentucky. In 2020, Dr. Ballard was one of the top finalists for the Kentucky Teacher of the Year. She is married to Mickey Ballard, who serves as the Associate Pastor of Music and Worship at CBC Paris. They have one son, Jake, a senior choral music education major at UK and two dogs, Sandy and Pepper.
