Join the Children's Choir
Auditions for the Spring 2012 Semester will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2011, at Centenary Methodist Church (2800 Tates Creek Road). There will be open auditions for all choirs EXCEPT Chamber Choir. The children's family needs to schedule their audition time(s) prior to the audition date (rather than just showing up).

The first rehearsal of the 2012 Spring Semester will be Tuesday, January 17, 2011, 4:30pm at Centenary.
Please bring a completed and signed Agreement Form with you to the audition. If you have more than one child auditioning, a separate form is required for each child.
Email audition date request along w/child's name/age/parent's name/contact info to lscchoir@yahoo.com. Each child auditioning must have an appointment before coming to auditions.

After you read this page, please download the one-page Children's Choir Agreement Form and the Children's Audition Form. Fill both of these out and bring them with you to the audition. Then, use our Contact Us form to communicate with us so that we will know of your interest and so we can schedule the exact time of your child's audition.

Children in grades one through twelve of all skill levels who are interested in singing are encouraged to consider joining the Lexington Singers Children's Choir. We welcome all girls and boys whose voices are in the treble range.
The Children's Choir consists of four choirs: Preparatory, Intermediate Choir, Advanced, and Chamber choirs. Each has its own director. Please review the information about the four choirs located here.
There are a number of responsibilities which children and their parents should understand when considering Lexington Singers Children's Choir membership.
- Auditions are held in August/September and in January for membership. Repeat audition of current members is not required.
- Auditions are simple and non-threatening, and are designed to properly assign children to the best choir which meets their needs and the needs of the ensemble.
- Rehearsals are approximately one hour on Tuesdays, beginning at 4:30 pm. On-time drop-off and pick-up is required.
- Children are expected to attend every rehearsal (early Sept - early Dec; mid Jan - mid May) as well as all performances and dress rehearsals.
- If children are unable to sing both semesters due to other commitments, they may sing only one semester without penalty.
- All children must purchase Children's Choir logo polo shirt.
- The Children's Choir supplies the vests worn at major performances.
- Tuition is $120 per semester. A discounted tuition of $200 per year is available if paid by the end of Sept.
- Scholarships are available for children who are not able to pay the tuition due to financial hardship.
- A reduced tuition is available for families with three or more children participating in the Children's Choir during the same semester.
