Dr. Johnie Dean, Assistant Director & Composer

Johnie Dean joined the Lexington Singers during the 2002-03 season as Assistant Accompanist.

Dr. Dean received his Bachelor of Music from Campbellsville College, his Masters in Church Music from Southern Seminary in Louisville, and his Doctorate in Music from the University of Kentucky. He is currently Adjunct Professor of Music theory at the University of Kentucky.

A Kentucky native, he has been composing and arranging church music for over 20 years. He has had more than 200 works published in the areas of handbell music, choral and keyboard literature, children's choir works, and instrumental music.
